Cologne is typically a masculine, clean-smelling scent. Men should look for these characteristics when choosing a cologne:
Stay away from a fragrance that smells fruity, flowery or feminine.
Choose a cologne that also comes in a body wash and/or aftershave. By layering the scent, you can ensure that it will last throughout the day.
Try a cologne that incorporates a sexy, masculine and fresh smell into one, like Fresh Scents by Terri My Man Cologne Spray. This cologne has a blend of bergamot and musk, which make it a must-have for men. Read the rest of this entry »

I wrote about the new Origins products the other week, and have since been testing their new Perfect World cleanser. I have to say I’m extremely impressed. It’s a really creamy cleanser, yet feels very refreshing due to the use of palm and coconut.
It foams up really nicely, and has a lovely scent of light magnolia and orange. The use of oat amino acids help deep cleanse and detoxify the skin, and washes off all traces of makeup Read the rest of this entry »

Ok, so Santa might have trouble stuffing all sixteen Liz Earle goodies into one stocking. But we’d be glad that he persevered, because this is one awesome Christmas present. It’s not called the ultimate hamper for nothing, it’s got practically everything that is wonderful about Liz Earle in one handy box…except maybe Eye Bright. So if you could put that in our stocking too, Santa, we’ll be on our best behaviour for a whole year.
I’ve been moaning blogging about my cellulite ever since it got close to summer, ie. the season we have to disrobe and show off our usually fully clothed bodies. I’ve tried a hoard of products and strategies along the way, and Dermafirm was one of them. To make sure I wasn’t imagining a difference, I tried it on one leg only, and used a standard body lotion on the other leg. Unlike most of the cellulite products on the market, Dermafirm isn’t based on caffeine, instead it contains VCPMg (a kind of vitamin C) and Retinyl Palmitate (a version of vitamin A).
Is this the strangest double-duty beauty product ever? DuWop’s Hands to Hair is (I think) a hair styling cream first and a hand cream second. So after you’ve styled your locks, you simply rub your hands together rather than rushing to give them a wash. It’s an interesting concept, but I can’t say I’ve come across many hand creams I’d like to put in my hair or vise versa. It also doesn’t help that when I first saw it, all I could think about was Cameron Diaz’ hair styling product in ‘There’s something about Mary’.
Bah, it’s Monday morning, but there’s still things to be happy about. It’s sunny, it didn’t rain all weekend, and Soap and Glory have a new product! We’ve ardent fans of Marcia Kilgore’s budget range here at Kiss and Makeup, and we’ve already sung the praises of several of the products! This new offering is an ultra moisturising body mist, scented like nice things (probably, my eyesight isn’t good enough to read the writing on the box, but all Soap and Glory things smell nice) and priced at £6

I’ve tried body lotions that cost as little as 99p, and now, I’ve tried one that costs £75. Guess which one I liked best?
Before you wonder about my sanity for spending £75 on a body cream, I didn’t, I received it to test as part of The Beauty Bible testing panel (anyone can sign up to be on their list, click here). And now, I can assure you, I would never part with my own cash for such a product.
It was lumpy, with a consistency like cold porridge, making it too thick to rub in easily and leaving a lingering white residue on my skin. The scent? An overpowering fragrance uncannily like cut grass. Read the rest of this entry »

Get your legs aglow with some leg shine, goodness knows our pasty British legs need it this year! Michael Kors debuted his very stylish leg shine a while back, but now there’s a cheaper contender in the form of The Body Shop Body and Leg Shine, available at less than half the price. The Michael Kors version is scented like the Michael Kors fragrance, funnily enough, and The Body Shop’s version is a tropical mix of hibiscus, orange, lemon and aloe vera
In this week’s Sunday Mirror, Emma Bunton, currently with child, admits to loving the Mama Mio beauty range for expectant mothers. She’s the latest in a quite sizeable line of celebs who swear by the brand’s Tummy Rub Stretch Mark Oil for keeping the unsightly slithers at bay during pregnancy. The blend of safe essential oils and super moisturising ingredients will keep your growing tummy super soft, and fingers crossed, free from stretch marks.
