I know this particular belt isn’t aimed at you and me (consumers) but at salon professionals, but it makes me giggle. I can imagine hairdressers strutting around John Wayne style with their straighteners peeking out of their pockets, pretending they’re weapons of mass destruction. It’s £49.99 from Corioliss and comes in three colours, red, green, and a fetching red leopard print. They’re hand made and 100% leather, and will hold at leas six pairs of scissors plus all your heated appliances.

How clever is this hair pin? I’ve never seen anything quite like this in the UK, and judging by the pictures alone, it seems to do quite a good job at keeping the hair in place. According to the translation, it’s for those times when you’ve overslept and only have two minutes to do your hair. I’m not sure my hair’s ever looked quite so good after two minutes (or ever would) but it’s a cool idea nonetheless. For the Japanese speakers among you, here’s the link.
Gemma made the curling with the GHDs thing look oh-so-easy, but if you’re still having trouble (me too), then Babyliss’ new You Curl is designed to make curling as easy as straightening. The You Curl is basically a straightener with two cooled, curled barrels on the top and bottom. So the technique is virtually the same as with your normal straighteners, but the curved barrels are supposed to make it that bit simpler. There’s a how-to video on the Babyliss site to help you make up your mind to keep practising or shell out £39 for these!
In case you didn’t know, T3 hair dryers are expensive. Very expensive. Prices range from £70 to £125 depending on the model. But they also do something that maybe, just maybe justifies that price. Thanks to their Tourmaline technology, they promise to dry hair 70% faster than your average dryer and leave it shiny and frizz-free (and all reviews considered, they actually seem to deliver).
Would you be willing to spend £100 on a hair dryer?

In a very well crafted move, Kate Moss is displaying a new do just weeks after the launch of her hair care range with James Brown.
Talking in the Daily Mail, hairdresser and best mate James Brown said, ‘We got together after seeing our new hair care range hit the shops and just decided to do it, I love Kate’s hair a shorter length and the fringe really looks amazing. She hasn’t had a fringe for a long time but it makes her look really fresh and sexy. There’s almost an element of a young Michelle Pfeiffer from the Eighties.’
Publicity stunts aside, we actually really liked the products, watch Gemma’s video and read my review for our thoughts.

Judging by the amount of comments on our pink GHD post, you like special edition GHDs! While the stylers themselves aren’t gold, practically everything else in the Christmas Glamour box is. No matter how many times I brush my hair before I go in, I’m always mortified in hair salons because my hair gets so damn knotty that the stylist can rarely get their brush through it without causing me winces of pain. So I’m sorely tempted to buy a Tangle Teezer, which is apparently amazing at getting through knotty hair without pulling, and take it with me every time I need a trim. It’s only £8.50, and so far Anne Robinson and Nadine Baggot have both declared their love for it.

The volume styler is a nifty new product designed to give your ponytail the va-va-volume it’s lacking. You place what looks like a mini tyre underneath your hair, and you should be left with a big ‘n’ bouncy ponytail. The only concern I have is that I don’t even have enough hair to cover the styler, but at only £2.99 to find out, it’s probably worth a punt.
